History of Museum –Air Force Museum HQ EAC IAF was inaugurated on 15 April 2004.

Location– Air Force Museum is located inside the campus of HQ EAF AF near main gate about 12 KM away from Shillong city on National Highway 44, Location of the museum is also available on Google map with the name Air Force Museum, Elephanta water fall, Mattilang Park, Orchidarium and Shillong view point, which are famous tourist spots, are in the near vicinity of museum.

Important Artifacts– In the open part of museum various aircrafts i.e Hunter, ISKRA (Fighter Trainer), Caribou DHC, Mi-4 Helicopter, Cockpit of Mig-21, Jet engine and R-11 Aero engine are also displayed for the visitors. On the either side of the museum, two stage surfaces to air guided missile system SA-2 and an auxiliary fuel tank externally carried by an aircraft are displayed at the entrance of museum. Models of AWACS, Chakor (Pilotless Target Aircraft) and Streak Shadow microlight are placed on the upper part of Museum. The museum has also acquired one state of art flying simulator for visitors. One well equipped souvenir shop is located outside the museum.
