Air Force Museum HQ EAC IAF was inaugurated on 15 April 2004.

Brief of the Museum

The museum consists of Four galleries including war and cultural gallery. Various equipment’s and numerous exhibits are displayed in the four galleries like ejection seat, aero engine, history, flags, logos and insignia of various commands of IAF, Photographs and models of various aircrafts used by IAF, various war time/peace time gallantry awards/medals. In war gallery role of IAF during India Pakistan war of 1965, 1971 and 1999 (Kargil) is displayed through many historic photographs. Air to air missile, bombs and various arms and ammunition like muzzle loading Shotgun, GSH 23 Canon, Aden 30mm gun and Head rocket aircraft 68 mm etc are also placed in gallery. In the cultural gallery rich cultural heritage, tribes, craftsmanship manifested in North Eastern states of India are displayed alongwith their dresses, handloom, handicrafts, cane works, jewellery, musical instrument and traditional weapons. The Air Force Museum is one of its kinds in Eastern Air Command for propagation of history and role of IAF. It is a famous tourist attraction and attracts maximum visitors throughout the year.
